NSW Wine Festival
The 2012 NSW Wine Festival kicks off the last weekend of February with the hugely popular Sydney Cellar Door in Hyde Park South, plus many other exciting events through March.
Presented by The Sydney Morning Herald, in conjunction with NSW Wine, the Festival is a celebration of the state's 14 wine regions and fine local produce through a number of wine-and-food focussed events across Sydney and regional NSW. It's brought to you by Citibank, our principal sponsor.
NSW Wine Festival highlights:
Sydney Cellar Door: Sydney’s biggest outdoor wine event. Wine-lovers and novices alike discover the extraordinary range and depth of our state's wine-making without leaving the city. Sample the best from around 90 wineries and meet the winemakers from NSW’s 14 wine regions. Fabulous food stalls feature produce from around the state - farmhouse cheeses, seafood, barbecued meats, sweets and gelato.
NSW Wine Festival at The Sydney Morning Herald Growers' Market: The Sydney Morning Herald's wine expert Huon Hooke takes market-goers through a NSW wine tasting, matched with premium market produce.
Dine with NSW Wine: Good Food Guide rated restaurants throughout Sydney offer a special menu, matched with NSW wine. Through March 2012.
Tour of the Regions Dinners: Hatted restaurants and regional wineries serve a full degustation menu matched with the State's best wines, and hosted by a wine-and-food expert as well as the winemakers. March 2012.
NSW Wine of the Month: Sydney's smartest bars offer a great glass of NSW wine and a cute bar snack, for just $15. Through March 2012.
