The Spice Girls rumoured to tour Australia next year
2Day FM co-hosts Kyle and Jackie O have revealed The Spice Girls will tour Australia in 2014.
While Jackie wouldn’t reveal her source, she did say the tour will include Victoria Beckham (Posh), who in the past has refused to take part in any reunion tour.
"All The Spice Girls will be touring Australia," said Jackie. "No official announcement has been made but I have a source, a very reliable source."
Kyle quickly suggested the 'source' was Scary Spice (Mel B), who relocated to Australia to judge the last season of The X Factor.
Last month, The Mirror reported any reunion tour or hopes for a new album had been quashed with the news Posh and Ginger (Geri Halliwel) had had a "falling out". The paper reported manager and talent show magnate Simon Fuller refused to put the tour on the road without Beckham.
In 2008, The Spice Girls cancelled their Australian dates altogether, but last year, after their Closing Ceremony performance at the London Olympic Games, the rumour mill began chugging again with reports Mel B, Geri and Emma Bunton were all in favour of a reunion tour.
This news comes less than a week after the announcement that the latest production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar will tour Australia later this year, with Mel C (Sporty Spice) starring in the role of Mary Magdalene. Tickets for the musical go on sale Friday, March 8.
