Future Entertainment is happy to confirm that Bloc Party will play an exclusive run of East Coast sideshows whilst on tour in Australia for the Future Music Festivals this March.

A band that needs little introduction, Bloc Party rose to fame in the mid-2000s with a unique and undeniable sound that set them apart from everything else in the market. Hailing from the UK, it wasn’t long before these 4 Brits had the world paying some very serious attention. Seamlessly managing to set the tone and the benchmark for cool, whilst leaving every other indie-rock band in their proverbial wake, Bloc Party are without a doubt one of the most sought after bands on the planet!

In 2005 their epic debut album Silent Alarm gave rise to a slew of anthems including So Here We Are, Banquet and Helicopter. This monumental success was mirrored in 2007 with the release of their critically (and fanatically) acclaimed follow up record, A Weekend In The City, which spawned hits The Prayer, I Still Remember and Hunting For Witches. In fact, it’s fairly safe to say that both of these albums hold pride of place in many an Aussie’s record collection. And rightly so!

Fast-forward to the present day, and Bloc Party have released no less than 4 stellar full-length albums. With a stack of side projects, remixes and edits under their well adorned belts, Bloc Party are still on a constant rotation of genius. And, having recently sold over two million copies of their fourth album, ‘Four’ (2012) which was also top 3 on the ARIA charts – it’s safe to say Bloc Party are only just warming up…

With a massive international following and a distinct sound known globally as their own, the Bloc Party boys are once again hitting Oz shores to show us what all the fuss is about. We don’t need to tell you what you already know - these shows will sell out!

'I still remember' partying to my favourite song 'Helicopter' It's as fun as eating a 'Banquet' on 'Sunday'. 'Give me one more chance' to win tickets!

This Modern Love - Such an apt description of our generation's disconnection from one another and our own emotions, backed by fittingly delicate but powerful instrumentation.

My favourite song is "Your Visits Are Getting Shorter" as the intro is genuinely creative and something i never get sick of listening to as i sway and boogey around

'Helicopter' opened my eyes to British post-punk and served as a gateway into the indie-rock scene during my impressionable teenage years.

My favourite song is "I Still Remember". It captures that feeling of growing up and leaving old loved ones behind perfectly. Nostalgia, heartbreak and happiness somehow all rolled into one.

My favourite Bloc Party songs are "Halo" and "Flux" because they instantly make me smile and they both show how much a Bloc Party song can differ yet be so extremely 'Bloc Party-sounding'
