A photographic exhibition by Michael Tweddle
From 7 January until 6 March 2013, Sydney-siders and visitors alike will be treated to a fascinating tour of the Peruvian Amazon courtesy of renowned Peruvian photographer, Michael Tweddle . Entitled Amazonia Peru: Wild Adventure, the free exhibition will be housed at Sydney’s Instituto Cervantes, Spanish Cultural Centre in Chippendale, showcasing the natural wonders of the largest tropical forest on the planet.
Hosted by the Australia Peru Chamber of Commerce Inc, with the support of the Embassy of Peru and PromPeru, the exhibition titled ‘Amazonia Peru: Wild Adventure’, will reveal the striking beauty of the Peruvian Amazon through the eyes and lens of the talented, Michael Tweddle .
A talented photographer, Tweddle has been capturing Peru, its culture and its wildlife, through the lens for over 20 years, unveiling a unique and captivating side to the country which few get to see. Amazonia Peru: Wild Adventure will mark the second time Tweddle has brought his work to Australia, this time sharing a unique glimpse of the Peruvian Amazon, considered to be one of the most untouched parts of the forest.
The Peruvian Amazon spreads over two thirds of Peru, and is strongly ingrained in the history, life and culture of the nation. This grand organ contains over half of the planet's remaining rainforests and produces more than 20% of the Earth’s oxygen. Home to over 70% of the world’s species, there is never a shortage of unique experiences and shots, and Tweddle, with his 20 years of dedication, has harnessed and captured the essence and the exceptional splendour of the Amazon for his Sydney tour.
