Musiktrafik presents the biggest gypsy party in the Southern hemisphere…Karavan! International Gypsy Music Festival 2012.

Rolling into town for its third season this year, Karavan! will bring with it the most exciting and diverse line up yet, featuring Baro Banda - the band who will take you deep into the heart of gypsy Istanbul. The band is made up of three Romany, two Turkish, one Turkish Australian and one Australian musician. They are the truly global band who bridge the gap between East and West with heavy Turkish Romany grooves to drum’n’bass, dub, funk, jazz and hip hop.

The Sydney show will also feature the high-energy-future-folk-post-apocalyptic hoedown sounds of Australian chainsaw folk vigilantes The Crooked Fiddle Band. Sydney favorites Stoli and The Black Train Band, Lolo Lovina and Trevor Brown Gypsy Dub Sound System complete the line up for what will be a non-stop journey through the heart of gypsy music, from the passionate flamenco of Andalusia to the cry of the Turkish gypsy clarinet and the foot stomping Balkan opa!

This is a party for everyone, so get your dancing shoes on and get ready to ride the Karavan!

Karavan! International Gypsy Music Festival will also be on the road to Brisbane and Melbourne, with the party continuing non-stop all the way.
