“Lucy is one of our finest comic talents, of any sex, race or religion.” - Sydney Morning Herald
Adelaide, the wait is over. Judith Lucy is back on stage for two nights only.
2011 saw Judith Lucy on a quest to discover something to believe in - she even turned it into a smash hit show for ABC1, Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey. Pretty fancy.
In 2012, one of the country’s most popular comedians is back on stage after a three year hiatus, with Nothing Fancy. No singing, no dancing, just gags about everything from meditation to beards. And maybe some talk of party pies.
“I mean, who doesn’t love a party pie?” Judith says.
Most of us got to know Judith when she came onto our screens as part of the Late Show in 1993 before selling out the Star Club at the Fringe in 2004 with Tony Martin and Mick Molloy. Since then Judith has sold out national tours, featured in films, had various stints on radio and established herself as one of Australia’s most successful comedians.
And now she’s back with a brand new show. It’s Nothing Fancy and it’s incredibly funny.
“Great comedians have time for a sip of water after delivering a ripper punchline. There were times when Lucy could have gone to the bar for a glass of red and we'd still be laughing when she got back.” - The Age
