Select Touring is proud to announce the return of US singersongwriter Howie Day, to Australian shores this March.

Hailing from Bangor, Maine, Howie began playing piano as a child and before taking hold of a guitar at the age of 14. Citing Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and Dave Matthews among his main influences, he quickly moved into Boston's coffeehouse scene and the world of folk music. Day stretched the boundaries of acoustic music from the very start, often using loop pedals while performing to create lush, layered sounds. He later expanded that sound to include electric instruments, strings, and a full backing band, a move which resulted in such pop/rock hits as the ever popular 'Collide' and 'She Says'.

Several years after releasing his commercial breakthrough album Stop All The World Now, Howie Day broke his silence with his long-awaited third studio album Sound the Alarm, where he collaborated with the likes of Mike Flynn (The Fray, Augustana), Mike Denneen (Fountains of Wayne) and Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall).

In June of 2011 Howie released 'Ceasefire', an independent EP featuring six new self-written songs. Each track on the self-released EP features strong hooks and emotive lyrics, showcasing Howie's impeccable way with words while delighting fans from around the globe. Throughout his years of constant touring Howie has become known for his powerful one-man shows, the strength of his songwriting, penchant for live loop sampling and warm tenor voice which combined, makes him a gripping, compelling and dynamic performer who should not be missed.
